Shazam is one of the top music apps around because it will use a song you play and identify both the name of the artist and the song title.

With Shazam, you can now do a quick search and find the title and artist almost instantly. The idea behind this app is so popular that it even inspired a reality television show that asked players to guess a song before the app did.
To use Shazam, you simply open the app, press a button and let the app listen to the song. It will show a spinning circle in the center of your screen and stop spinning when it identifies that song. The app will then tell you who sings it, the name of the song and even the album that features that title. You can use the links provided to buy that song and others from the same artist through Google Play, Amazon and other apps or websites. The ads for those apps is sometimes distracting and downright annoying though.
Many people now use Shazam as a way to find new music. When you access the charts feature, you can view the top music charts in countries around the world. This helps introduce you to songs you never heard of before. You can listen to a small sample of those tracks to determine which ones you want to buy before you make a purchase. Shazam is the perfect way to identify just about any catchy song while you are out and about. The application is very easy to install and use. To use, you simply hit the "Tag Now" button and hold your phone close to the speaker that is playing the song you want to identify.
The app also includes news feeds to help you stay on top of entertainment news. The only downside is that Shazam is not able to recognize every song that is played. However, the library is still quite extensive which is why this is still an excellent app choice.
